How Employer Checks Work
There are 3 ways that an employer could order a check with CVCheck:
The employer orders your checks directly
Depending on the industry or company policy, the employer may choose to order the
checks that they require on you and your career directly with CVCheck - after getting
your written consent. They would place an order under their own account with CVCheck,
collect and process your personal and career information and then receive the results
of the checks online.
Since the employer has paid for and ordered the checks they own the results. Your
information is secure and the employer is bound by privacy laws and our user agreement
to maintain your confidentiality.
You receive a PrePaid Order from the employer
The employer may choose to pay for your checks but ask you to place the order and
enter your details. This is called a PrePaid Order.
The employer will choose the checks that they require for you and CVCheck's system
will send you a Check Code via email. You then create your own account with CVCheck
(don't worry ... it's free) and use this Check Code to place your order. Our system
will know which checks are required so you just have to enter the information that's
required for each check and place the order ... the employer pays for the checks.
Since your order is placed under your own account with CVCheck you own the results
and can use them any way you see fit. Since the employer paid for your checks they
also have access to the results.
You receive a PreSelect Check Code from the employer
A large (and growing) number of employers simply want you to verify your information
and give them access to the verified results. However, so that there's no confusion
as to exactly which checks they want, CVCheck provides a means for employers to
generate a PreSelect Check Code that uniquely identifies the set of checks they
are looking for.
You might receive such a code via email and you may also see it as a link on a web
site or in a job ad. You can use this Check Code in your own CVCheck account
to automatically select the checks for your order.
Since you order and pay for the checks you own the results. Our system makes it
easy to share your results on a temporary basis with the employer for as long as
you like. You can also share these results securely with any other employers or
interested parties at any time.
